Mustafa Akalp, Chairman of Executive Council of 3rd IREMCON says: “We are waiting investors to IREMCON”

The impact of Climate Change and Global Environmental Issues continues to increase. We observe peak records in the global and human history, and these effects are likely to result in new peak records.

What’s important here is that it is not possible for countries to remain unaffected from these effects or be excluded individually.  The shortage and scarcity of water, water-sea-air and soil pollution in agricultural food production as well as mass immigrations arising from such effects continue to affect all humanity and countries. Although these effects are experienced at different ratios in different geographies and countries, tackling these impacts requires the joint efforts of all countries.

Mustafa Akalp, Chairman of Executive Council of 3^rd IREMCON, notes relating to the International Recycling and Environmental Management Conference to be held on 28 March 2019 for the third time in collaboration with IFAT EURASIA that “The Balkans, the Middle East and the Caucasus, at the hub of which lies Turkey, hold a special place in this global structure. We are in a common geography; we have a common culture and common consumption habits. We share similar environmental issues.

Given that the solutions of our problems are also similar, developing technologies and industries tailored to this geography and these consumption habits and seeking solutions within the countries in this particular geography and thus, strengthening cooperation, rather than adapting technologies from overseas and different geographies, appear to be the right thing to do. More successful and more efficient waste management can only be achieved in this way.

To this end, IREMCON-International Environment Conference is organized to enable countries in this geography, especially the Balkan countries, to share the knowledge, experience and success in the field of environmental and waste management and recycling with international investors, to evaluate economic and investment opportunities with experts and to support the development of international cooperation with waste management and recycling. The key to success is the pursuance of Environmental and Waste Management with great success, along with its economy.”

Highlighting that IREMCON has been successfully organized since 2015, Mustafa Akalp, Chairman of Executive Council of 3^rd IREMCON, says: “IREMCON-International Environment Conference, hosted by our country with great success, brings together prominent stakeholders of the waste industry, economic size of which is expressed in billions, apart from its environmental importance and necessity, and ministers, experts and academicians, local administrations and CSOs from different countries. It is the first of its kind both in our country and in the world with this structure.”

Stating that 2nd IREMCON - International Environment Conference held on March 21-22, 2018 with the theme of “waste management and recycling in the Balkan countries” had the honor to bring together and host Ministers, Vice Ministers, Ambassadors, Top Executives and Academicians from a number of Balkan countries, Mr. Akalp also noted that 3^rd IREMCON- International Environment Conference would be held in Istanbul, on March 28-29 with this year’s theme of “Strengthening International Cooperation in Combating Global Climate Change and Waste Management” in collaboration with IFAT-Eurasia Fair, in which the effect, participation and content level increase year by year.

Mr. Mustafa Akalp also said in connection with their activities: “As part of the preparatory works for the conference, we visited Macedonia and Kosovo on 16-21 February 2012 and met Prof.Dr. Zoran Sapuric, Minister of Investments of Macedonia, Mrs. Ana Petrovska, Undersecretary of Ministry of Environment of Macedonia, Mrs. Daniela D. Nelepa, Chairman of the Solid Waste Association of MASWA-Macedonia, Mr. Marjancso Dameski, General Manager of NULA OTPAD-Accumulator and Electronic Waste Disposal, and Mr. Emir Adem, Director of Waste Management, and Mr. Adrijan Mavriq, Adviser to the Vice President of Montenegro. On 19 February 2019, we paid a visit to Mr. Fatmir Matoshi, Minister of Environment and Spatial Planning of the Republic of Kosovo, and held a meeting with friends.”

Stating that the target audience of the conference was the public sector and organizations falling in the scope of waste and recycling field and especially industries that provide production and services focusing predominantly on industry, Mr. Akalp says “I urge everyone not to miss 3rd IREMCON- International Environment Conference, to be held with the participation of valuable speakers. We expect investors, in particular, to attend the conference”.
